The Step-Up! Program was created to ultimately increase the number of culturally competent, highly skilled nurses in our community. This unique program provides a safety net for individuals struggling to advance their education, by making available a new career ladder step for members of the southeast Los Angeles community.

Refining

Step-Up! provides General Educational Development (GED) and mathematics instruction to individuals who do not meet the admission requirements of St Francis Career College’s Career Training Programs. For current SFCC students, Step-Up! provides targeted skill development workshops for participants in need of supplemental coursework. 

• Provides GED and math adult education training to individuals who are deferred for admission by SFCC;
• Offers six-hour math and computer skills intensives for SFCC students needing remediation;
• Facilitates “Lunch & Learn” information sessions.
